This beautiful Purple and Paua Maori Korowai contains a mix of purple, cerise, white and paua (greeny blue) feathers, accented with a purple taniko at the top. The combination looks regal.
This Maori feather cloak is made by a lovely Maori lady of Ngati Porou descent. She was shown the method of making the korowai by a Northland kuia, and she blesses each korowai with a karakia.
The correct name for the cloak is kahu huruhuru, but most people still use the word korowai to describe these cloaks.
The inside of the korowai is lined with black fabric. The cloak is sewn on a sewing machine, making it affordable.
We usually keep this in stock, but if we need to make to order, allow 3 weeks.
